The Best of Dublin Festivals this Summer!
Forget the snow and don’t even listen to the weather forecast for Easter. Summer is coming (eventually, we hope), and this means one thing: Festivals!
Everyone loves a good festival whether it is food, arts, music or health. They are great way to escape the norm of everyday life and adding in a few pals to come along with you makes for a fun and revitalising day indeed. Of course, choosing the right festival can be rather difficult with so many great ones to choose from so we have done the research work, now all you have to do is pick one and then remember to pack the umbrella and/or sunscreen. Enjoy!
Food
Bloom was launched in 2007 by Bord Bia and it is an electrifying weekend showcase for garden design, horticulture and food trends, with Ireland’s top chefs and cooks in attendance. It takes place on May 31st – June 4th in the beautiful backdrop of Phoenix Park, Dublin which is ideal for local residents and commuters.
The Taste of Dublin is four fabulous days of eating, drinking and entertainment at the festival. It also boasts many unmissable tastings and chef demonstrations. In terms of food excellence, if you are primarily a foodie this is one event you will not want to miss. It takes place on the 14th June to June 17th at The Iveagh Gardens.

The Beatyard Festival is an exhilarating experience offering over 50 food areas, demos, food competitions and workshops, as well as craft beers, a gin bar to name a few. As it is perfectly positioned in Dun Laoghaire, you can be guaranteed a great day out. Spending time along the pier and visiting this festival will be wonderful. It is on August 4th and 5th.
The Big Grill Festival features the best outdoor cooking with fire and smoke, where you can take part in demos and workshops from well-known chefs, as well as enjoying a craft beer or two. The smell of the food promises to be amazing and if you love a laid-back festival this is one that will tick all the boxes. It is on August 16th – 19th at the very lovely Herbert Park, Ballsbridge.
Music
Croke Park is having a super summer with acts including The Rolling Stones (May 17th), Taylor Swift (June 15th and 16th) and Michael Buble with support from Emeli Sande (July 7th).
The Killers will play the RDS with support from Franz Ferdinand on June 26th adding to an already action-packed summer of music for fans!

The Summer Series at Trinity College Dublin returns after a succesful run last year, kicking off on July 23rd with singer, songwriter and all-round superstar Grace Jones, supported by Next Big Things Wyvern Lingo.
On July 24th, classical crossover stars Il Divo take to the stage, followed by Rag’n’Bone Man (July 25th), a greatest hit set from Roxy Music man Bryan Ferry (July 27th), and the wonderful Gavin James (July 28th). It does not get any better than this!

Health and Wellness
Wellfest has been heralded as Ireland’s largest fitness and wellness festival, and it will be returning this year in a new location to help encourage healthy living for the whole country. In 2017, the festival sold out rapidly, with a crowd of 5,000 people gathered in Dublin to seek advice and partake in the fitness and nutrition classes of some of the top national and international health experts.
This year promises to be bigger and better. The best part is that the event can be a fun day out for the whole family with a wide range of activities and classes for everyone. All activities are included in the ticket price. It is on May 12th and 13th and takes place in Royal Hotel Kilmainham.
