Instagram-worthy interior trends for Autumn 2018
The season has well and truly changed, and we are not just talking about what’s happening outside your window. Inside, it is time for a seasonal shake up as the light and airy summer breeze is replaced by something a little more brrr.
To keep our minds off the weather and on to more fun topics, we have spent the afternoon pouring over some of the more aspirational interior design magazines, websites and those all-important Instagram account favourites to bring you the top interior trends for Autumn 2018.
Not everyone will welcome the colour of the season, which is navy – the jury’s still out on that one. But contrasting with the navy is deep, dusty and utterly dreamy pink. If you think this sound a bit feminine, you would be right and this feminine trend continues with oversized florals. While it is best to keep it to a statement feature, the only rule when dealing with such vintage colours and styles is to keep it contemporary!
Along with rich colours and bold floral designs, the ultra-textured trend continues with stripped timbers and tactile metallics for high impact accessories.
Vintage florals will not be everyone’s cup of tea so you can substitute this pattern for any bold shapes – stripes, spots and geometric blocks give this season a distinctly more playful feel than anything we have seen in recent years.
Obviously we’re not suggesting that you slavishly spend the season redecorating, rather, you can give your living space a quick Instagram-worthy make-over (even on a tight budget) by adding a new metallic lamp, plush throw or, perhaps, go big with a statement rug incorporating all the colour and pattern trends of the season. Did we mention cushions yet? How did we ever style a room without cushions..?
